Why don’t you jump onto the Australian Red Cross Blood Service website (www.donateblood.com.au) and see if you are eligible to give blood!

The Australian Red Cross are always in chronic need of blood donors. Without access to a fresh and regular supply of blood products people with chronic diseases such as leukemia aren’t able to properly access the treatments they need.

The process really isn’t as daunting as it first seems. All you need to do is log onto the website to see if you’re eligible ( they have very stringent set of criteria, making it all the more difficult to find regular donors), call them up on 131495 to make an appointment and go from there.

Once you are at the donation centre the fantastic Red Cross staff take excellent care of you and make sure everything runs smoothly and comfortably. They even provide free refreshments afterwards to get you going and on your way.

Overall the experience leaves you feeling fantastic and full of life, with the knowledge that what you have just done will make an enormous difference to the life of someone else. What more could you ask for really!
